A few things I believe you should be keep in mind with in nature is to ensure that a) your subject is defined and does not blend in with complex and highly concentrated contrast compositions b) you have found something distinguishable in nature in that it is not simply an ordinary tree or leave but rather has an interesting shape, shadow, or texture. If you keep these things in mind your nature photos for the final project should come out great and hopefully will show more direction.
