  1. The extreme close-up of the jointed, double seashell is the photo I will be looking at. Although the shell itself is in the center of the picture, the grooves and lines on its surface lead the eye to the joint of the two shells in the upper left. This happens to be a point on the grid pertaining to the rule of thirds, and makes for pleasing composition. The detail of the shell, such as its texture and the sand caked on one end, make it interesting to look at, despite the simplicity.
